Ha, THAT viral AI take was quite something. Utter bilge in my opinion. As usual Brian Merchant nails it: https://www.bloodinthemachine.com/p/five-takeaways-from-an-unhinged-ai

And Ann Handley's response is good. I see a lot of people saying 'AI can/will do X, so get ready or get left behind!' but very few people asking the more important questions she articulates. Almost nobody is asking what happens to capitalism when/if AI replaces most intellectual labour and causes mass unemployment. And still, despite all the growing evidence to the contrary, so many people seem to believe the economic bubble of AI will keep growing forever...

As you're on an AI tear at the moment, you might like this series of conversations from the Maybe - Reframing Impact (https://www.themaybe.org/reframing-impact). It's been timed to coincide with the AI Summit in India and is about as vital a set of perspectives on the topic as I've come across.

If you want some takes on the prevailing narratives that don't come from middle aged white men from the industry, you'll do well here.
