Documenting our mission to go self-sufficient and off-grid in rural Normandy

We completed on our Normandy house last week, a house on an acre of land adjacent to an orchard in a bright, rural corner of La Manche.

We’re close to a classic French village with a bar/tabac, a butcher, a grocer and a merchant selling massively elaborate farming equipment; and twenty minutes from Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery.
