1. Busy week ahead! I’m at Kendal this weekend with my wonderful All Conditions Media pals. I’m also hosting a few bits, starting with a panel discussion for my pals at Klattermusen on Saturday 18th, at which I’ll be interviewing photographers Melody Sky and Daniel Bernstal, and film-maker Matt Pain, about their new film A Different Perspective. Tickets here.
2. Then on Sunday 19th I’m co-hosting a live podcast discussion with my pal Matt Pycroft of The Adventure Podcast! We’ll be discussing (and taking questions from the audience) the topic of ‘new storytelling perspectives’ with some specially chosen guests. Tickets are shifting quickly but you can still snag one here.
3. The following weekend I’m also hosting some bits at the London Surf Film Festival which I’m very much looking forward to. On Saturday 25th I’m hosting a creative workshop called ‘Why Am I Telling You This - Building Narrative In Film, Image, Word and Sound’ at which I’ll be chatting to Big Sea writer Chris Nelson, my creative right hand man Owen Tozer, composer CJ Mirra, and film-makers Maddie Meddings and Rebecca Coley about their creative and storytelling approaches. Tickets here.
Later, at the 6.45pm session, I’ll also be hosting an exclusive screening of Db Fund winners Antoine and Eloise’s new film Turning Tides! We’ll show the film and I’ll be chatting to the pair afterwards about the whole project and Db Fund process. Tickets here. Phew.
4. Did the world need a new version of Welcome to Hell rescored with an ambient jazz soundtrack? Probably not, but the sheer creative bloody-mindedness of this is something I can really get behind. Find out more here.
5. New Torren Martyn and Ishka incoming!
6. Been trying to arrange an interview with skater/shepherdess Lois Pendlebury for yonks now, so I can’t wait to see his new film about Lois from Percy Dean. Watch a quick preview above.
7. Rapha posts £12 million loss, amid an ongoing period of uncertainty for the cycling industry. More here.
8. My creative right hand man Owen Tozer has joined forces with friends-of-the-show Island Snowboards for this tasty looking new range. More here.
9. A new Ed Caesar story is always something to celebrate. Read his latest, unsettling piece about a notorious Eritrean people trafficker here.
10. I post about the Fifty a lot, but it’s great so here I am posting about their latest episode once again.
Got a story or link you think might work for my weekly Ten Things, which goes out to many thousands of readers each week? Let me know! Enjoyed this dispatch?
