Two brilliant docs, a KMF round-up, and the best writer in skateboarding.
1. I missed a week! And it was heartening how many people got in touch asking where their weekly 10 Things fix was. (Maybe they’ll even share it this week)
Anyway. I’m blaming a hectic Kendal Mountain Festival, Storm Bert, chaotic trains, and Kendal’s truly awful internet and mobile coverage.
Still, KMF was brilliant. Massive thanks to my pals Steve and Jacqui Scott; my All Conditions Media team-mates for their dedication, creativity, and for being the best workmates ever; and all the friends old and new I hung out with.
Highlights included interviewing Chris Burkard at a sold out Town Hall (above); hosting a sold out session for The Big Sea; and the special live podcast I recorded with Steve, Lauren MacCallum and Phil Young about The Announcement, and which I’ll be releasing as part of the bonus section exclusively for paid subscribers.
2. The Elvis doc on Netflix is absolutely brilliant.
3. The new Booker winner Orbital sounds right up my boulevard if this New Yorker review is anything to go by.
4. This podcast takes a really even-handed look at the Paul Watson case.

6. I’ve said it before, but I really do think that Cole Nowicki is the finest writer in skateboarding. More evidence in his latest piece about the Barrier Kult.
7. Via Lloyd Kahn’s excellent Substack, I really enjoyed this piece about California’s lost driftwood shacks.
