I've just finished Winter People by Grainne Murphy, it was absolutely stunning. Nothing much happened and yet so much did. It was so beautifully written I was lost for words at times. The central character is deeply connected to the sea, I think you'd like it. I've ordered everything else she's written and I cannot wait.
Feels like a hot nail going into you when one of those Asian hornets stings you. Happened to me in Burgundy, and I'm allergic. Fun times with the pompier and an ambulance ride to the Urgent Care. AS an American I was terrified of what it might cost. All told, it was about 65-euros. Sigh.
Mayflies is still rattling around my head and heart. Thank you for that recommendation. I reread Anna Burns’s Milkman every year. Not sure if it’s been on a past list of yours. Cryptic in all the right ways. Thanks for Looking Sideways!
Keep the '10 Things' coming please Matt.
It's a chance to be inspired by things that may have passed me by without noticing!!
Thank you, because I can imagine it is a pain at times to rustle up '10 things' each week!!
Hey thanks Mike. Tbh honest I really enjoy it, keeps me curious each week. Glad you’re digging it!

Without a doubt, my best book so far this year is As If by Isabel Waidner. I also really, really liked American Tiger.

Love 10 things! I had not listened to timber timbre before.. and they are awesome!! So sad to hear about the passing of Taylor.
I’m really glad to hear that. And yes he was such a voice. They’re such an amazing band
