“What do I enjoy most? To get absolutely surf stoned…and to know that’s part of the job”. Friend-of-the-show Christa Funk captures Lauren right in the moment.

As regulars will know, I’m on a mission to help my Insights paid subscribers find their own answers to two fundamental questions:

How can I spend more time doing the things I’m passionate about?

What does a ‘successful’ creative career really look like?

In last month’s second instalment in the series, I asked my friends Charlie Dark, Phil Young, Mike Lay, Matt Pycroft, and Soraya Abdel-Hadi to explain how they have found their own answers to these questions through their singular careers.

If you missed it, catch up below:

Now, for this third instalment, I’m back with with some clever international pals who have also kindly taken the time to explain exactly how they make their money as creative freelancers: legendary surf writer Jamie Brisick, US snowboard industry fulcrum Tom ‘T-Bird’ Monterosso, surf film-maker and Pack Heavy Chase Light director Sam Moody, and beloved surfer and Waterpeople Podcast presenter Lauren Hill.

As ever, expect the same intriguing and compelling mix of insight and vulnerability that has made this series such a hit. And if you have any ideas about who I should speak to for episode 4 of this series, let me know in the comments.
